Melanie Warner Spencer has been practicing yoga and meditation for more than 20 years. In 2021, Melanie earned a 200-hour yoga teacher certification through the Yoga Alliance-approved My Vinyasa Practice in Austin, Texas. Melanie is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. In 2022, Melanie earned an ayurvedic nutrition counselor certification, also with MVP, and in 2023 embarked upon a year-long ayurvedic immersion with certified yoga instructor and Ayurvedic counselor Claire Ragozzino of Vidya Living.
As part of Melanie’s deep commitment to continuing her yogic education, she is also working on a 300-hour certification and trauma-informed yoga certification through MVP. Melanie is insured through BeYogi.
Mindfulness meditation is an integral part of Melanie’s daily routine. In addition to many years of self-study, Melanie trained in the online, beta, meditation teacher course of The Mindfulness Center, a nonprofit wellness Institute in Maryland, founded in 2009, by Deborah Norris, Ph.D., director of the Psychobiology of Healing program in the Department of Psychology at American University.
Fascinated by the concept of collective consciousness, prana (the Sanskrit word for breath or “life force”) and the balance of our prana or vibrational energy (the frequency at which living organisms vibrate), in 2021 Melanie became a reiki practitioner and added this deeply healing meditative method into her daily practices.
